The key requirement for any parking system is an easy-to-install, flexible, dependable and long lasting barrier gate. Dorado Products, Inc. has designed and tested their gates to do just that, offering features such as a high quality motor and heavy duty electronic circuits all at a very competitive price.

 

 

 

Specifications

CABINET CONSTRUCTION

The gate cabinet is built using heavy-duty 10 gauge cold rolled steel with all seams carefully welded and ground smooth. The access door, featuring a flush-mounted key lock, is precision built from 11 gauge cold rolled steel and finished with a weatherproof seal. A white, durable gloss finish of textured polyester powder coat is applied to all cabinet and door surfaces to hold up against harsh weather. Gate retrofit is made easy with industry standard 3/4" bolt holes on a 12 1/2" square pattern.

MECHANICAL

The gate features an Emerson® motor rated at 1/3 HP, 115 VAC, 60 HZ, 1625 RPM single phase, instant reversing, heavy duty motor. The motor features permanently lubricated ball bearings and a thermal overload protection device with a readily accessible reset button.

The motor runs the Hampton® 60:1 gear reducer through a pair of long-lasting Gates® V-belts. Power is transmitted to the gate arm through a harmonic acting crank and connecting rod design. The cranks, connecting rod and main drive shaft are made of solid steel bar stock, and rotate on oversized oil impregnated brass bushings.

For ease of setup, the drive unit employs harmonic arm action by which the arm is vertical in the open position and horizontal in the closed position. Adjustable cams provide easy adjustment of gate arm travel. All mechanical and electronics are rated for constant operation of up to 160ºF (72ºC)

The gate is designed to supply 1100 inch pounds of force, enough for a 14' foot arm made from wood, PVC, or aluminum. (Longer arms do require the use of counterweights).

ELECTRICAL

The Model 1400 gate controller is extremely flexible and reliable, and will run in the following user-selected modes:

  • One-way traffic
  • Two-way traffic
  • Standard SBO (Single Button Operation)
  • Manual SBO

One- and Two-way modes offer any combination of the following options:

  • Open on loop detection (For free exit)
  • Accept Vend-B on lot full condition. (To optionally permit entry when a lot is full)
  • Vend memory (Counts-down multiple input signals)
  • 60-second Timer (To automatically close the gate without a loop detector)

The controller is equipped with dry contact (1A @ 30V) outputs:

  • Vend A (transient parking) count output
  • Vend B (monthly or access card parking) count output
  • Gate arm down or lowering.
  • Gate arm up or raising.
  • User-configurable dry contact outputs for installed Reno® loop detectors.
  • 120VAC @ 10A Lot full sign electrical connection (energized when the 'Lot Full' input is active)

Inputs to the controller include:

  • Vend A open (for transient parking)
  • Vend B open (for monthly, or access card parking)
  • Close gate
  • Lot full
  • Re-open (Safety, 2 input pairs)
  • Open on steady (Continuous open, 2 input pairs)

Additional features:

  • 3 slots for the Reno® Model J Series PC board loop detectors
  • Heavy-duty 25 Amp rated triacs w/ LED indicators mean no more replacing motor relays or guessing
  • 150 Watt thermostat controlled heater
  • A large 3/4", easy to read, 2-digit alphanumeric display shows input activity and settings
  • Field-replaceable fuses with LED indicators to show blown fuses
  • High-speed, opto-isolated inputs with high tolerance to long wire runs.
  • Plug-to-plug compatible to retrofit our previous controller, the 1100B
  • Field contacts to supply 12VDC @ 1 Amp for accessories
  • Total Vend A, Vend B, and cycle count.

GATE ARM AND CLAMP

Standard gate arms start at 10' and are made of quality 1" lumber finished in white exterior enamel paint, and have a yellow and black diagonally strip on both sides. The gate arm is mounted with a quick release bracket, designed to insure a clean break if the arm is broken.
